At present based in Devon, this business can be relocated anywhere in the country, ideally within reasonable reach of the main road network. 

DESCRIPTION

This business imports specialist animal bedding, mainly for horses at present, and supplies retailers, livery stables and equine centres all around the United Kingdom and Ireland. It is the appointed sole supplier for the UK and Ireland, and there is great demand for the very popular and economic product in the equine world. Advertising in the form of sponsorship and a presence at many exhibitions and race meetings has brought the product to a wider market and increased sales. The pet bedding is also exclusive to this business, and initial sales, with 100% repeat orders, indicate that there is an enormous potential market here also.

The product is shipped on pallets in 40ft containers, via Tilsley or Southampton Docks, and these are unloaded at the business premises with a fork-lift truck. The pallets can be stored outside if necessary, since they are double shrink-wrapped and have a waterproof cover. A few customers with regular large orders receive their delivery direct from the port.

The business supplies horse bedding to individual centres, shops and chains of retailers, including a recent deal with a company having over 30 stores nationwide. The business has some customers in France, and if this market were to be built up, the sole rights for France would be available too. As well as bedding, there are further products with sole rights available if required.

THE BUSINESS

The overriding advantage for this business is the unique agreement with the suppliers of the product both for the horse bedding and pet bedding in the whole of the UK and Ireland.
